the cool, fun and hopefully helpful sh*t we can offer you <3

performance opportunities

in 2015, we started hosting hummingbird, a youth and community focused open mic in Regent Park. since then, we have hosted over 40 open mics!

house, hip-hop, rap, jazz, pop, r&b, rock, poetry, and beyond - you can even perform with a live band.

all levels of experience and genres welcome, ESPECIALLY if its your first time. we provide free food, refreshments, and smiles.

if you’ve ever wanted to perform on stage for a fun, warm, and supportive crowd, this space is for you!

virtual workshops

we host regular online workshops, free of charge! we provide access to learning opportunities that will hope will give you the pragmatic knowledge, non-hierarchical mentorship, and community connections that will help you navigate the industry with greater confidence and ease.

we don’t believe in gatekeeping industry knowledge and let’s be real, they don’t teach you the survival skills you need in school.

community research

we believe that in order to better serve our community and to advocate for the change needed in the arts & entertainment industries, research should be community-based, by us and for us.

click here if yr nerdy or hold a position of power in the industry and want hot tips on how to improve.

artist resources

we offer open access resources that align with our mission. this includes resources developed for our workshops, external resources curated by our team, and a Black Musicians Artist Directory.

the resources section of our website is currently under renovations. stay tuned or send us a message if you’re looking for something and we’ll see what we can do.

the report is in!

in 2018, we decided to do some community-based research on the experiences of QTBIPOC youth artists in the Toronto and GTA area.
